Up, Up and Away!

Mom (Grandma Hartley) is off on a vacation with Linda this week. They left on Sunday and are headed to Lolo Pass (in between Montana and Idaho, elevation about 5, 200 ft. ) Then they are going to see the Tetons and Yellowstone Park, and I don't know what else. When they are tired of traveling, they will come to Lewiston to the Pehrson Bed and Breakfast for a couple of days!

I'm sure that she will have many stories to tell of their adventures. Safe travels, Mom and Linda! Wish I was going with you!

Technical Difficulties

Grandma is having technical difficulties with her computer right now, so her blog entries are postponed until further notice! Until then, I will keep you updated with what is happening in her life. Do you trust me, Mom? :)

Most recently, she has been putting her flowers out on the deck and in the planters around her yard. She had offers of people to help her, but, being the independent, little woman that she is, she turned down all offers! Needless to say, because of all of the rain, she hasn't had to worry too much about keeping them all watered!

As always, Grandma has kept busy going around and playing cards with different groups of friends and at the Senior Citizen's Center. We're all glad to know that you have so many good friends there in La Grande to keep you busy!

She has been going weekly to the TOPS program, a weight loss group that she used to go to years ago. To date, I believe she has lost over 5 pounds! Good work, Mom!!!

She and Linda are planning to go on a short vacation when school is out for Linda; sometime in July. Right now they are talking about going to see Mt. Rushmore and I'm not sure what all else. I'll keep you updated. They plan on swinging by Utah before heading home! Whoo Hoo!

I'm sure that Grandma would love comments on her blog, so don't be shy about leaving some here! Until next time......love you, Mom!

Great-grandma Hartley, giving loves to Olivia Mae.

Grandma may be able to do it????????

Dear bloggers: It may take me a while but I may be able to do this. Nothing much going on here except Mar 31 is the deadline to get off the winter snow tires. So my good neighbor carried my regular tires out of the back shed and put them in the car for me on Tuesday night ne guess what it snowed like heck all night and half of the next day--even though the powers that be says get your tires off on March 31 and this is the 25th--knowing that Grandpa used to get up early to be at Les Schwabs bright and early so he wouldn't have to wait for hours to get his tires changed. I knew that was not in my schedule to do that. So about 3 oclock it stopped snowing and so me I thought AH now is the time for me to go get my tires changed. And off I goooo--believe it or not I had to wait only about 10 minutes but guess what--and I did remember that some time Grandpa said I was going to h--ave to buy new tires--and it was then so about a half hour later off I go home only about $439.08 later with brand new tires and a lot of snow on the ground. But at least I didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn or wait hours to get my tires changed.

Ha--so here comes Thursday and it is a nice day and all the snow melts and I do have my new tires and ready to go where ever I want to. I do believe the first long trip I will be going is down to Connies when Jenny is there with the babies. In case you don't know my sister Roberta is coming from Georgia to see see me and we are planning that jaunt. I guess if I want to or I not I will be a gad about Grandma. So much for this time--home the blogging is working.

Going to Utah

On Monday at 830 am Ivy and I left La Grande to go to Connies--we were looking for snow weather but did not find anyuntil we got to Preston, Idaho about 7 miles from our destination. And then to our surprise there was 12 inches of new snow and Connie fretting to death that we had trouble. But no it was a safe trip.
So Carl unloaded the car and Ivy went on her way to the Smiths home and Connie and Carl had dinner ready. So off to bed at the regular time.
Today Michele and Olivia came throuogh the drifted snow from Logan and visited for a time and once chance that Wayne had to havae lunch withher, she wasn't home--so in no time she was on her way to meet her hero. I almost bought Wayne a new shirt it had a picture of a couple with a ball and chain and in big letters GAME OVER but I didn't get it. Wish I had.

Welcome to Mom's Blog!

I created a new blog for my mom, so she could join all of us in sharing her life with us on the internet! One of the glitches that has come up by me creating it under my name, is that my name will appear as she posts her blogs and makes comments on other blogs. I'm not sure how to fix that, but hope you will be able to sort it all out! After this one, the rest of what you see on this blog will be all her! Hope you enjoy! Connie
